Risen From The Depths
When a fishing trawler out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean hauls in its largest load in weeks, the crew is ill-prepared for the unveiling of their catch – an automobile painted-up like a military jet, with a body inside wearing a U.S. NAVY flight suit. The circumstances surrounding the scene are almost too much to comprehend – how is such a scenario possible? Investigators have their theory, but even they could not foresee the overriding mystery behind this crime – ties to an event that occurred on the Aircraft Carrier USS ENTERPRISE over 30 years prior; and they are not coincidental.
About the Author
Ronald Lamont (aka Ronald Lamont Canfield) is a U.S. Navy veteran and former (retired) high-level manager with the Department of Defense (DOD). Although Ron’s professional writing was more technical than literary, the ability to eloquently transform a technical concept into a strategic plan was paramount to the successes achieved throughout his career. Upon retirement from the DOD it became apparent that his vast experiences therein might provide an intriguing plotline for a story. The first that came to mind was the launching of a 1963 Plymouth by the USS ENTERPRISE during its 1978 Westpac Cruise. This event was the inspiration for RISEN FROM THE DEPTHS. “What if there was more to such a launching than meets the eye?” he pondered. From this simple musing emerged a mystery.
